Literature review understanding the space and motivations for adopting pets in the US.

I looked at several existing pet adoption apps to figure out what patterns are established, what works, and what doesn't.

From my initial research, I found that I still didn't understand enough about adopters and the decisions they go through when adopting a pet. So I created a set of questions I sought out to ask.

I designed a 5-minute survey targeting adopters who have adopted a pet in the past. I sent the survey to participants on an internet forum for pet adoptions.

With the data collected from the survey and one user interview, I created a persona I felt captures an archetype of a general pet adopter.

From here I thought through a user journey for my persona and what features she may need for a pet adoption app that addresses her pain points.

I began iterating on different sections of the app, beginning with rough sketches and several iterations for each app section.

I then built out the full map of the app to visualize the user journey in the big picture of the whole app.
